Quick Connection and Diagnostic Operation Steps

1. Connection Steps

• First, turn off the ignition switch and ensure the vehicle is in a safe state;

• Next, locate the DLC (Data Connector) – usually located under the steering wheel or on the driver’s side dashboard;

• Next, select and install the appropriate adapter according to the vehicle’s DLC type;

• Then, connect the diagnostic cable to the vehicle’s DLC via the adapter;

• Finally, turn on the ignition switch (the engine can be off or running) and start the diagnostic system.

How To Update Launch X431 G3 Software?

The Launch X431 GIII Software Update function keeps your diagnostic software & app up-to-date, you can also use it to customize your frequently used software. As a powerful chip reading and writing device, it’s compatible with most X431 series tablets like X-431 V+ V5.0, X-431 PAD V, X-431 PAD VII, X431 PRO5, etc.

*X-PROG3 will connect PAD VII/PAD V/Pro5 and IMMO series (IMMO Pro/IMMO Elite/IMMO Plus) via USB, for other X431 tablets, only Bluetooth or WiFi connection.
*To clone ECU or TCU with X-PROG3, you need PAD series or IMMO tablet series tools. X431 V/V+/Pros v1.0 with X-PROG3 cannot do ECU/TCU cloning. 

1. On the main diagnostic screen, tap “Software Update” to enter the update center. Check the software you want to upgrade, and then tap “Update”.
